CrossFit is a general strength and conditioning programme suitable for those of all abilities. We use constantly varied high-intensity functional movements to increase all-round fitness ensuring that our members are ready for anything that life throws at them.
In a CrossFit class you can expect to see a wide variety of different exercises and tools used including cardio, weightlifting, bodyweight and gymnastics, but the important thing is that we ensure the class is suitable for all abilities and levels whether your just getting into the gym and fitness or you are a competitive athlete , through using proper progression, we ensure that everyone can work hard and most importantly have fun!
Our beginners courses run monthly over 3 weeks and involve a 1 hour class on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 2000. Over the 6 sessions you will get coached on all the basic techniques and progressions that we do in CrossFit. This includes teaching the technique and progressions for; Squats, Deadlifts, Snatch, Clean and Jerk, along with some of the Gymnastic and bodyweight movements including; Pullups, Toes to Bar, Handstand Pushups.
The important thing we teach you on the course is all of the correct progressions for the different movements. We don’t expect anyone to turn up and do a handstand push up, so don’t panic! The important things you will learn and take away from the course is the proper progressions so that by the end of the 6 sessions your ready to join in with the full CrossFit program and know how to progress over time with the help of our coaches.
The course costs £50 but if you sign up for membership after your beginners course you will get the £50 back off your first months membership.
OLYMPIC WEIGHTLIFTING CLASS
Our Olympic Weightlifting class is a technique based class where we break down and look at improving the technique on the Squat, Snatch and the Clean & Jerk. This class is for all levels and for anyone who wants to improve their lifting. This class is also a perfect follow on from the beginners course and it will reinforce the drills and progressions for the Snatch and Clean & Jerk and you don’t need to use any weight.
CROSSFIT GYMNASTICS CLASS
Here at CFB we are very lucky that the CrossFit Gymnastics classes are headed by Simon Nieland who is one of the best CrossFit Gymnastics coaches in the world! In this class we break down elements from the gymnastics movements used in CrossFit and look at drills to improve strength and mobility in those movements. This class is also for any level and is another great addition for beginners if your looking to improve your strength and mobility for CrossFit Gymnastics.
Our yoga class is a chance to work on your flexibility and also to relax and unwind mentally at the end of the week. We believe that rest days are important for the body but also the mind. Our Yoga class is again suitable for all levels so we encourage you to come along on a Sunday and stay for a coffee afterwards!
